Carols are one of the most traditional events in the Australian Calendar.
Organised in many cities as public festival, these events are events for the community to gather around and tighten the feeling of a friendly town.
This event was the first one I covered for the Whitehorse Council.
Deakin University was the sponsor of the photographer, but the one they hired was a student that reported unavailable to cover the event the same day.
Mark Souter, a fellow photographer, recommended me. Within hours, I went back home to gather my gear, head to Whitehorse to understand the brief, meet the organisers, scout the area and be ready by the time the event started.
Deakin and Whitehorse were so pleased with the results that I have been covering most of their events since.
